Power to the People!


Typical wall outlet in BeijingFor those (like me) who love gadgets AND don’t like the thought of not being able to plug in, the fine folks in Beijing have us covered. Consider Exhibit A, the typical wall outlet in Beijing. The top accepts both the two-pole Euro plugs and the two-blade US plugs. It provides lower amperage than the lower outlet that seems to be Australian. You see these a lot in China.

What does this mean to me? I don’t have to go out and buy, beg, borrow, or steal those travel plugs or step-down transformers. How considerate. My computer, my cell phone, my PDA and I thank you.
